A National Workshop on “Emerging Challenges in Law and Technology” was jointly organised by the National Law University, Jodhpur and Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur. The patrons of the Workshop Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur and Prof. Santanu Chaudhury in their respective addresses announced the establishment of a “Joint Centre on Law and Technology.” The discussions in the workshop revolved round AI, Cryptocurrency, Blockchain, Legal Issues for New Age Technologies (Space science, Synthetic biology, Stem cells, etc.), financial crimes, Legal Analytics (NLP) and IP policies.
The notable speakers of the Workshop includedDr. Gulshan Rai, Ms. R. Arulmozhiselvi, Prof. Pushpak Bhattacharyya, Dr. Arul George Scaria, Ms. Jhalak Kakkar, Prof. Mitali Mukerji, Dr. Shilohu Rao, Dr. Saptarishi Ghosh, Dr Lipika Dey, Mr. Purushottam Anand, Prof. SomitraSanadhya, Dr. Amandeep Singh, IPS, Shri. Anurag Goel, Mr. Rakesh Maheshwari and Mr. Gaurav Pathak. The speakers acknowledged the need for collaborations of both the institutes to address the challenges related to law and technology and explore future collaborations and initiatives.
