Volume 10, Issue II (2026)

The Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (CALJ), published by the National Law University, Jodhpur, invites original and unpublished submissions for Volume 10, Issue II.

The Journal seeks to promote rigorous academic engagement with contemporary developments in Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. While the Journal remains rooted in questions relating to the Indian constitutional and administrative framework, it equally welcomes submissions adopting comparative, transnational, and global perspectives. We encourage contributions that examine constitutionalism, governance, rights, institutions, public law, judicial review, democratic accountability, and related themes from jurisdictions around the world.

Submissions may engage with doctrinal, theoretical, empirical, historical, or interdisciplinary approaches, provided they fall broadly within the fields of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

1. GENERAL GUIDELINES

1.1 The Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Journal (“Journal”) seeks to foster academic dialogue and critical scholarship in the fields of Constitutional Law and Administrative Law. The Journal welcomes submissions addressing developments in India as well as comparative and international perspectives on public law. All submissions must fall within the broad scope of the Journal.

1.2 The Journal is peer-reviewed, ensuring that all submissions undergo a thorough and impartial evaluation by subject-matter experts.

1.3 All submitted manuscripts must be original and unpublished. Any form of plagiarism shall result in immediate rejection.

1.4 The maximum permissible similarity threshold is 10%, while the use of Generative AI tools shall not exceed 30% of the manuscript. Submissions exceeding either threshold shall be summarily rejected. Generative AI tools may only be used for:

• Idea generation and exploration;
• Language improvement; or
• Literature classification.

Authors must disclose any use of Generative AI tools through a statement placed before the abstract. The statement should specify:

• The full name and version of the tool used;
• The manner in which it was used; and
• The purpose for which it was used.

1.5 Submission of solicited manuscripts upon invitation from the Editorial Board does not guarantee publication. Final discretion regarding publication remains with the Editorial Board, subject to the manuscript meeting the Journal’s standards of scholarship.

1.6 Authors must inform the Editorial Board if the manuscript has been submitted simultaneously to another journal, website, or forum. The Board must be notified immediately if an offer of publication elsewhere is accepted.

1.7 Following publication in the Journal, permission for any subsequent publication must be obtained from the Editorial Board.

2. SPECIFIC GUIDELINES

2.1 Authors

2.1.1 Each manuscript may have a maximum of two authors. Co-authorship is not permitted for Book Reviews and Case Comments.

2.1.2 In cases of joint authorship, the corresponding author must provide the name, credentials, and contact details of the co-author at the time of submission.

2.2 Manuscripts

2.2.1 The Journal accepts submissions in the following categories:

1. a) Articles: Substantial and analytical contributions addressing significant issues within the Journal’s scope.
2. b) Notes: Concise discussions of recent developments or focused issues of contemporary relevance.
3. c) Case Comments: Critical analyses of recent judicial decisions, legislative developments, or policy measures.
4. d) Book Reviews: Critical reviews of books relevant to Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, or allied public law disciplines.

All submissions must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 350 words.

2.2.2 Word Limits

• Articles: Up to 8,000 words
• Notes: Up to 4,000 words
• Case Comments: Up to 2,000 words
• Book Reviews: Up to 2,000 words

The word limit excludes footnotes, except where speaking footnotes are used. The Editorial Board reserves the discretion to consider submissions exceeding or falling below these limits where justified by the quality of the work.

2.2.3 Formatting Requirements

• Font: Garamond
• Main text: Size 12
• Footnotes: Size 10
• Line spacing: 1.5 in the main text; 1.0 in footnotes
• Verbatim quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks, italicised, and indented by 0.5 inches
• The entire manuscript, including footnotes, must be justified

2.2.4 Language

The Journal follows British English conventions.

2.2.5 Citations and References

• All sources must be duly acknowledged through footnotes.
• Speaking footnotes are permitted.
• The Journal follows OSCOLA (Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities). Compliance with OSCOLA is mandatory.

2.3 Submission Procedure

2.3.1 Manuscripts must be submitted via this Google Form.

2.3.2 Submissions must be in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

2.3.3 The manuscript must not contain any identifying information. Authors must ensure anonymity for the purposes of peer review.

2.3.4 The Manuscript Document must be named in the following format:

2.3.6 Receipt of the manuscript and subsequent editorial decisions shall be communicated through the email address used for submission.

2.3.7 The deadline for submissions is: 11:59 PM (IST), 125 July 2026 (Saturday).

3. COPYRIGHT NOTICE

Authors, upon submission, acknowledge and accept the following conditions:

• Upon publication, copyright in the published work shall vest with the Journal.
• Any subsequent publication, reproduction, or derivative use of the work shall require prior permission from the Editorial Board.
