Symposium on Dr. Ambedkar's Legacy and Constitutional Silences

National Law University, Jodhpur is delighted to share the Symposium on Dr. Ambedkar's Legacy and Constitutional Silences, organized under the Centre for Constitutional Law & Administrative Law (CCAL), held on 14 April.

The Symposium was conducted in the august presence of our patron, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur. We were also joined by Shri Rajesh Mohan, Deputy Secretary, Lok Sabha, who shared his insightful thoughts on constitutional silences and Dr. Ambedkar's enduring legacy. We were honoured to have with us the contributors of the Special Issue: Senior Advocate V. Sudhish Pai and Prof. (Dr.) Shruti Bedi.

The symposium critically engaged with the idea of constitutional silences and reflected upon Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s constitutional vision by examining the gaps, absences, and interpretive challenges within India’s constitutional framework. We are especially honoured to have marked the occasion with the launch of the Special Issue of the Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law Journal (CALJ) titled “Decoding Constitutional Silences: Experiences from India,” a milestone that we are deeply proud of.
