National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute (VVGNLI), Noida, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India. The MoU establishes a long-term partnership aimed at enhancing collaborative research, academic exchange, and training initiatives in the fields of labour laws, industrial relations, employment policies, and social security.
The partnership sets the foundation for joint academic activities, including customised training programmes on contemporary labour issues, library resource sharing to enrich academic access, and the organisation of joint seminars, workshops, and conferences on emerging labour market challenges. It further enables faculty exchange for delivering specialised lectures, mentoring research scholars, and contributing to interdisciplinary academic engagement. The MoU also provides internship opportunities for NLUJ students at VVGNLI, offering practical exposure to labour policy research, field-based studies, and applied social science methodologies. Both institutions will undertake collaborative research and consultancy projects that contribute to evidence-based policymaking and informed public discourse.
A Joint Management Committee comprising members from NLUJ and VVGNLI will oversee the implementation of activities and ensure smooth coordination. The MoU will remain effective from the date of signing, with ongoing activities allowed to conclude even if the agreement is later terminated by either party with due notice.
Speaking at the signing, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, Vice Chancellor, NLUJ, stated, “This partnership will significantly strengthen our academic ecosystem and enhance student and faculty engagement with real-time labour policy developments.”
Dr. Arvind, Director General, VVGNLI, remarked, “Our collaboration with NLU Jodhpur will help advance meaningful research and capacity-building efforts in the labour and employment sector.”
This ceremony was attended by Dr. Sanjay Upadhyay, Associate Professor, VVGNLI, deans and faculty members of NLUJ Jodhpur.
