Dr. Varsha Singh, Assistant Professor at NLU Jodhpur discusses India's position on the treaty on crimes against humanity in the op-ed piece published in the Hindu on 20th December 2024. On 4th December 2024, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)  adopted a resolution approving the text of the treaty on crimes against humanity. The text was prepared by the International Law Commission and submitted to the UNGA in 2019. The op-ed  highlights India's position on the International Criminal Court (ICC)  and the core crime of crimes against humanity and advocates that India should lead the way in ending the impunity for grave crimes like crimes against humanity.
