The Society has consistently strived to empower students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the corporate legal sphere.Guided by the able administration of Dr. Manisha Mirdha, the CLS was envisioned with a dual mission, to cultivate awareness and enthusiasm for corporate law among students and to forge a symbiotic link between aspiring legal minds and corporate law firms.

Key Objectives

The major objectives of the Corporate Law Society include:

·       The society aims to spread awareness amongst students regarding contemporary developments in the realm of corporate law.

·       It seeks to deliberate upon the changing trends in the field.

·       The Society aims to create a bridge between external corporate law firms, academicians, professionals and the students of the university.

·       It also conducts its flagship competition, the Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Writing Competition, to promote quality legal scholarship relating to the field of corporate and commercial laws amongst students.

·       To enable students to develop their commercial awareness, CLS also hosts a lecture series titled ‘Insider Insights’, which invites a range of guest speakers on various topics of corporate law.

These objectives collectively embody CLS's commitment to not only inform and educate but also to inspire and empower the next generation of legal minds in the intricate sphere of corporate law.

Initiatives by the Corporate Law Society

At the heart of CLS's outreach efforts are CLS Bulletins on legal updates meticulously curated to disseminate knowledge and insights into the dynamic realm of corporate law. These publications serve as invaluable resources, empowering students with the latest developments and critical analyses within the field.

Moreover, CLS proudly spearheads the esteemed Pranita Mehta Memorial Essay Writing Competition, a flagship event conducted in collaboration with top law firms, commemorating the legacy of the late Ms. Pranita Mehta, a revered founding member of CLS. This competition not only honours her contributions but also provides a platform for students to showcase their acumen in corporate law, fostering intellectual growth and professional development. This year, CLS will be conducting the 8th edition of the competition. Additionally, the top authors are rewarded with coveted internships at premium law firms, providing them with unparalleled exposure and hands-on experience in the corporate legal domain.

In its relentless pursuit of fostering practical learning, CLS introduced ‘Insider Insights’. This innovative initiative equips aspiring lawyers with a deeper understanding of practice areas within law firms, imparting essential technical skills and insights crucial for internships and future careers. This visionary program addresses the gap in students' awareness of potential practice areas and essential technicalities needed in the corporate legal landscape. The series features a galaxy of distinguished guest speakers, often alumni of NLUJ, practitioners and experts from leading law firms. Through interactive sessions, students gain exposure to a wide spectrum of topics such as mergers and acquisitions, securities law, intellectual property, compliance, and more.
