Call for Abstracts - 3rd National Seminar on ‘Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times’

Greetings from the National Law University, Jodhpur!

We are delighted to announce the Call for Abstracts for the Third Edition of our National Seminar on ‘Constitutionalism in Contemporary Times’, scheduled to be held on September 7, 2024, at the NLU Jodhpur Campus. This seminar, a joint initiative by the Centre for Comparative Constitutional Law & Administrative Law and the Constitutional Law Society, aims to foster an enriching exchange of ideas on contemporary constitutional issues.

With the success of the previous two editions of the national seminar, we are delighted to conduct the seminar at the NLU Jodhpur campus this year. This seminar aims to provide a platform for legal scholars, practitioners, academicians and students to engage in thoughtful discussions and deliberations on pressing contemporary issues within the realm of constitutional law. By bringing together diverse perspectives and expertise, the seminar seeks to foster an enriching exchange of ideas, critical analysis and novel insights into the evolving landscape of constitutional jurisprudence.

Themes

Authors are invited to submit papers exploring a range of broad themes specified below, encompassing not only the Indian context but also comparative perspectives.

1.       Governance, Electoral Processes, and Civic Engagement

2.       Constitutionalism in the Age of Technology

3.       Evolving Contours of Judicial Review

4.       Constitutional Protection to Minorities

Submission Guidelines:

1.       Abstracts should be within 300 words, with at least five keywords highlighted.

2.       Formatting: Font - Garamond, Font Size - 12, Alignment - Justified, Line space - 1.5.

3.       Maximum of two authors per submission.

The seminar will be open to all UG, LLM & PhD students, academics and practitioners. Upon acceptance of the abstract submitted, participants will be required to pay a non-refundable fee. Please note that the registration fee covers accommodation for two days and lunch, dinner & high tea for the day of the event and stationery provided on the day of the seminar. Further, co-authors are required to pay the registration fee separately.
