NLU JODHPUR PARTNERS WITH THE GOVERNMENT OF RAJASTHAN FOR RESPONSIBLE AI GOVERNANCE

National Law University Jodhpur is pleased to announce the execution of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Government of Rajasthan.

The National Law University Jodhpur has entered a strategic partnership with the Department of Information Technology & Communication (DoIT&C), Government of Rajasthan. This collaboration aligns with the establishment of the state's AI Centre of Excellence, ensuring that as Rajasthan advances digitally, it does so within the boundaries of constitutional and legal propriety.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchanged on 06th January 2026 at the Rajasthan Digital AI Impact Conference 2026.

Under the leadership of our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur, this collaboration sets a new benchmark where legal expertise meets technological progress and is significant to help Rajasthan advance digitally while keeping its systems fair, safe, and lawful.

The  strategic partnership  collaboration Impact:

  1. Guiding Policy: NLU Jodhpur will act as a knowledge partner, providing expert advice to the State Government to draft AI policies that respect the law and ethics.
  2. Skilling the State: We will launch special courses and training programmes on AI and Law for government officers, students, and professionals.
  3. Boosting Start-ups: The University will mentor new entrepreneurs and host workshops connecting legal experts with doctors, engineers, and start-up founders.
  4. Leading Research: We will organise hackathons and research projects to solve hard problems like data privacy, algorithmic accountability, and security.

This partnership is our commitment to nation-building. NLU Jodhpur is looking forward to working with the State Government of Rajasthan to ensure Artificial Intelligence is used responsibly for the public good.
