Dr. Mahendra Soni is currently serving as Associate Professor of Law at National Law University, Jodhpur. He holds a Ph.D. and LL.M. in Business Laws from the National Law Institute University, Bhopal. He brings with him over a decade of academic experience and a prior professional experience as a Law Officer with Bank of Baroda.

Dr. Soni specializes in Labour and Employment Law, Banking and Insurance Law, Competition Law, and Civil Procedure. He has developed and taught both regular and distance education courses, and has played a vital role in curriculum design and academic delivery. His commitment to legal scholarship is evident through multiple publications in reputed journals, including SCOPUS and Web of Science indexed journals, and edited book volumes. He is also the co-editor of two notable edited books on Labour Laws published under the aegis of NLIU Bhopal.

He has presented research papers at national and international conferences, including events organized by the ILO, NLU Delhi, and West Bengal NUJS. His academic engagements extend to serving as Chief Editor of the NLIU Journal for Research in Competition Law and Policy and the NLIU Journal for Labour and Employment Law.

Recently, Dr. Soni has established an important research centre at NLU Jodhpur namely, Centre for Research in Labour and Employment Laws (CRLEL).

A regular contributor to capacity-building programmes, Dr. Soni has participated in numerous orientation, refresher, and FDP programmes across reputed institutions. As a resource person, he has been invited by Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), UGC-HRDC centres, and other legal platforms. He has also taken on several administrative roles such as Assistant Dean Students’ Welfare, Faculty In-charge of the Library, and Member of the Examination and IT Committees.
