Dr. Danixia Cuevas (Law)
Visiting Professor

Dr. Danixia Cuevas is a professor at Miami Dade College (MDC) one of the largest higher education institutions in America.  She teaches pre law, law and paralegal studies courses in an American Bar Association approved program. 

Dr. Cuevas was a Fulbright-Nehru scholar to India.  She has served as a Fulbright Specialist twice and a Fulbright Scholar Alumni Ambassador.  Additionally, she has been a peer reviewer for the Fulbright Scholar program; the Fulbright student program as well as the Fulbright Specialist program.  She has written articles and presented at conferences nationally and internationally on law related matters including access to justice, global community paralegals, human rights issues, experiential learning as well as collaborative teaching pedagogy. She is an expert in cooperative teaching pedagogy and has engaged in numerous legal clinics with her students including in the areas of immigration law, special education and domestic violence. 

Dr. Cuevas has received two Endowed Teaching Chairs for outstanding teaching excellence at MDC. Prior to joining academia, she was a public interest attorney and death penalty mitigation expert.
