On July 1, 2024, National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) family welcomed the new batch of B.A.LL.B and B.B.A.LL.B students with Diksharambh 2024, the orientation program. The event marked the beginning of an enriching academic journey for the incoming students.
The orientation program focused on familiarizing the students with the university's academic structure, faculty, and the resources available at the Campus. The day will begin with the distribution of welcome kits to the students, followed by the inaugural session.Welcome Remarks were delivered by Ms. Kritika Singh. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor's Address Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur warmly welcomed the new students and shared her vision for the University. Prof. Kaur encouraged the students to utilise University’s academic, sports and learning facilities. She urged the parents to stay connected with their children to ensure their academic progress and well-being. At the same time, she ensured that the University faculty and staff will make the students feel at home and will always stand by with the students in their journey of learning at the University.
Faculty members were introduced by Dr. Manoj Kumar Singh and administrative staff members were introduced by Mr. Ankit Singhal. Details of Atendance Requirements were explained by Dr. Chitra Saruparia and Dr. Archi Mathur discussed the examination modalities.
Sessions on halls of residence, campus discipline, anti-ragging rules, dining facilities, and the university health center was conducted by Dr. Bipin Kumar and Dr. Kanika Dhingra. While introduction to general law courses and specific UG streams was covered by Dr. Rashmi Mathur, Dr. Archi Mathur, and Dr. Asha Bhandari.
On this occasion Prof. Kaur interacted with the students and their parents. This interactive session served as an opportunity for students to engage directly with Prof. (Dr.) Harpreet Kaur.
The orientation also had a session dedicated to discussion on cultural activities, sports, wellness, and various committees such as the Moot Court Committee, Legal Aid and Awareness Committee, and Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee.
Further, from July 2 to July 10, 2024, students will attend a series of informative and interactive sessions designed to enhance their academic and personal growth. These sessions include training on library usage, legal research databases, mental health orientation, and awareness programs on narcotics and gender sensitization. This sessions will be conducted by Dr. Kranti Kapoor, Mr. Vinod D. , Dr. Manisha Mirdha, Mr. Siddharth Balani, Dr. Anjali Thanvi and Mr. Sarthak Mishra
