Valedictory Ceremony of NLUJ ITEC Programme 2024

The valedictory session of National Law University Jodhpur (NLUJ) and Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India Two-Week Special Training Programme on Criminal Law and Forensic Sciences for attorneys from the Office of the Attorney General of Nepal was conducted on1st March 2024 at 9:45 AM at the NLUJ Auditorium. The valedictory address was given by Chief Guest, Justice Ashwani Kumar Singh, Former Judge, Patna High Court.

During this two-week programme which started on 19th February 2024, sessions were conducted by legal luminaries and experts on the theme of Criminal Law and Forensic Sciences. Prof. G.S. Bajpai, Prof. B.B. Pande, Mr. M.L. Kumawat,Dr. Tanuj Kanchan, Shri Sanuj Kulshreshtha, Prof. V. Subba Rao,Dr.Shaloo Malik, Adv. P.C. Solanki and Mr. Bhaskar Agarwalenlightened the participants with their insights into diverse topics related to the theme.
The programme was inaugurated bythe Chief Guest, Justice Ravindra Bhat, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India. A panel discussion was conducted by Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, National Law University, Jodhpur and Mr. Renjith Thomas, Faculty of Law at NLUJ on Legal Reforms in Criminal Justice System,
Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Hon’ble Attorney General of Nepal,Dr. Dina Mani Pokharel and Deputy Attorney General of Nepal, Mr. Bishwo Raj Koirala along with 30 participants visited the Rajasthan High Court, Jodhpur on 21st February 2024 and were addressed by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Mr. M.M. Shrivastava and Hon’ble Justice Pushpendra Bhati.

The participants also explored the culture of Rajasthan with their visits to Mehrangarh Fort, Osian sand dunes, Ranakpur and various other prominent places in Jodhpur.The participants also visited Surpura Village which has been adopted by NLUJ. This visit was coordinated by NLUJ faculty Dr. Anjali Thanvi. The cohort was taken to Arid Forest Research Institute (AFRI), Jodhpur and were addressed by Mr. M.R. Baloch, IFS, PCCF and Director, AFRI and his team to make them aware of flora and fauna in the desert area. The practical exposure of Forensic Science processes was given to the cohort by the experts at Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Jodhpur.

This event was coordinated under the supervision of Prof. Harpreet Kaur and Mr. Harphool Pankaj, RAS, Registrar, NLUJ. This team comprised of course coordinators:Dr. Manisha Mirdha, Dr. Neeti Mathur, Mr. Renjith Thomas, Mr. Sathak Mishra, Staff Members at NLUJ and the Student Team of NLUJ External Initiative Committee: Bhanu Jindal, Shivam Jain, Rajiv Yadav, Siddhant Rathod, Vanshika Agrawal, Harshita Baswana, Alka Nanda, Rijul Rajan, Vrinda Gupta and Bhanu Pratap Singh.
