Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) and the Arid Forest Research Institute (AFRI), Jodhpur

On January 8, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) and the Arid Forest Research Institute (AFRI), Jodhpur. The programme commenced with plantation drive at the NLUJ Campus.
Professor Dr. Harpreet Kaur, Vice-Chancellor of NLUJ, said that this MoU will promote cooperation in education, research, and capacity building in the field of environmental law, forestry, and natural resource management.
The MoU will also provide faculty, students, and researchers from the two institutions with the opportunity to conduct research on various environmental and forestry law-related topics.
In the coming days, the two institutions will collaborate with NLUJ's Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Women to provide education related to forestry and forest products to rural women to encourage them to earn a living.
Mr. M.R. Baloch, IFS, Director of AFRI, Jodhpur, gave information about forest policies and highlighted the importance of research and legal framework in biodiversity conservation and land degradation.
The program was attended by faculty members of NLUJ and scientists and officials from AFRI. Dr. Neeti Mathur gave a brief introduction to NLUJ and conducted the program. Dr. Tarun Kant, Group Coordinator, Research, AFRI, introduced the research work of the AFRI and expressed his gratitude.
