In the month of May, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Law University, Jodhpur (NLUJ) and the School of Law and Social Justice, University of Liverpool, UK. During her official visit to the UK, Prof. Harpreet Kaur, Vice-Chancellor of NLUJ was invited to the University of Liverpool, UK to sign the MoU. The MoU was signed by Prof. Kaur and Prof. Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro- Vice Chancellor in the presence of Professor Valsamis Mitsilegas, Dean of the School of Law and Liverpool internationalisation team.
The MoU focuses on mutual exchange of scientific and technical knowledge and materials,joint research activities, faculty and administrative staff exchanges and student exchange at graduate level. Prof. Kaur said that this MoU will provide international exposure to the faculty and students of both the universities. This mutual exchange of knowledge and cooperation in promoting research will lead to advancement and unearthing innovative solutions to address challenges related to law and social justice.
This partnership is expected to benefit students and faculty from both NLUJ and the University of Liverpool by providing them with opportunities to learn from leading experts in their respective fields, collaborate on cutting-edge research, and gain exposure to different legal systems. It is likely that this collaboration will promote greater exposure to different legal systems for students and faculty from both the universities. It will also pave path for development of new research projects that address critical legal issues.
The faculty and staff of both the universities are happy with this collaboration and expect fruitful outcomes in the coming future.
