Dr. Ruth Vaiphei
Assistant Professor
Dr. Ruth Vaiphei graduated in Law from North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong, and began her professional career in legal practice before the Hon'ble High Court of Meghalaya and the subordinate courts. She subsequently pursued her LL.M. in Corporate Law from National Law University, Jodhpur, and earned her Ph.D. in Corporate Law from ICFAI University, Dehradun.
Prior to joining academia, Dr. Vaiphei gained corporate experience with Thomson Reuters. She began her teaching career as an Assistant Professor at Modi University, Rajasthan, and later joined The ICFAI University, Dehradun, in February 2018. Since December 2019, she has been serving as an Assistant Professor at National Law University, Jodhpur.
With over eight years of teaching, research, and professional experience, Dr. Vaiphei's areas of specialisation include Corporate Law (Company Law, Securities Law, Investment Law, and Project Finance), Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), and Forensic Science.
At NLUJ, Dr. Vaiphei actively contributes to academic administration and institutional governance through a wide range of academic and administrative responsibilities. Among her notable institutional responsiblities, she serves as the Chairperson of the SC/ST Cell, Course Coordinator for the IX and X Semesters, Warden, and Member Secretary of the Grievance Redressal Committee.
Dr. Vaiphei has published extensively in reputed national and international journals and edited volumes. Her research spans a broad range of areas, including corporate law, corporate governance, arbitration, white-collar crime, gender justice, forensic justice, and other interdisciplinary fields. She has actively presented her research at numerous national and international conferences, contributing to scholarly discussions on contemporary legal developments and emerging issues in corporate and commercial law.
