Dr. Arunabha Banerjee is currently working as an Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, at National Law University, Jodhpur (‘NLUJ’). Arunabha is the Chief Editor for the Journal of Intellectual Property Studies and the Executive Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Studies at NLUJ. Additionally, Arunabha chairs the Academic Support and Literary Committee and advises the Moot Court Committee at NLUJ. He has been nominated by the University as the IPR Law Expert in the Intellectual Property Management Committee at AIIMS, Jodhpur.
Arunabha’s previous employment experience includes a stint with Thomson Reuters Legal Managed Services (TR-LMS) where he last served as an Assistant Manager with the Regulatory Mapping & Compliance Solutions Team, with a total post qualification experience of more than 12 years. In addition to earning numerous awards for professional excellence at TR-LMS, he became a certified trainer and interviewer, and ably managed complex legal research and compliance projects in the areas of insurance, consumer protection, labor laws, banking etc. Arunabha trained and mentored his team members on the nuances of legal research and writing.
He completed his L.L.M at Amity University, Kolkata, with a First Division with Distinction to his credit. Arunabha was also the recipient of the All-Round Best Student and Best Mentor Awards for sustained academic excellence during L.L.M. His area of work in PhD encompasses the interface between Artificial Intelligence, Patent and Copyright.
Arunabha has co-authored ‘Intellectual Property Rights’, a commentary on IPR laws in India, published by Gogia Law Agency, Hyderabad, under its ‘Lexworth’ Series in January, 2022. He holds numerous publications in reputed national law journals. Arunabha has also presented research papers in various international conferences on contemporary legal issues in the area of artificial intelligence and IPR. His areas of interest include international IPR, copyright and contract law.
