Dr. Asha Bhandari (Sociology)
Assistant Professor

Dr. Asha Bhandari Ph.D., M.A,NET (Philosophy, Sociology) started her teaching journey in 2001 at National Law University Jodhpur, Rajasthan and presently working as a Senior Assistant Professor and  Coordinator at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. She has taught courses on Logic, Applied Ethics, Business Ethics, General Principles of Sociology, Indian Society, Sociology of Law, Rural Society, Crime and Society, Law and Society to the UG and PG students. She has also completed two major research projects -‘Socio-Legal Status of Women Prisoners and their Dependent Children- A Study of Central Jails of Rajasthan’ and ‘Role of Logical Fallacies in Legal Reasoning- An Assessment of Judicial Pronouncement in India’ sponsored by ICSSR  and UGC respectively. She has represented NLUJ, at various platforms including Sociology of Health- Lesson Learned, organized by Research Institute for Healthcare Organization and Medical Management, Moscow Healthcare Department founded by Moscow Government November 23, 2021, ‘20th International Oxford Leadership Symposium’, held on December 4-6, 2019, Somerville College, Oxford University, UK. She was also presenter at  XIX ISA World Sociology  , July 15-21, 2018, Toronto, Canada, Women Entrepreneurship Conference’, 3-5 April, 2017, Bangkok University, Bangkok ,  ‘3rd Women Studies Conference’,4-7 May, 2017.Colombo, Sri Lanka and XXIII World Congress of Philosophy, August 4-10,2013,Athens. She has also been holding various administrative positions including Member of Academic Council, Research Board, Centre Superintendent Examination, Chief Course Coordinator, member of ICC (Internal Complaint Committee) and various other administrative committees at the University. She is also Executive Director of Centre for Gender Studies at NLUJ. She has been constantly working with the researcher’s community also by sharing her vision as the member of various scientific committee of international seminars, member of editorial board of journal. Her areas of interest are Gender Studies and Legal Reasoning.
