International Women's Day
“How precarious a woman’s life is when it’s dependent on the whims of a man.” – Mrs. Maisal
Girls and boys see gender inequality in their homes and communities every day – in textbooks, in the media and among the adults who care for them. Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.
International Women’s Day has become a method to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
This International Women’s Day i.e., 8 March 2022, join the Centre for Gender Studies in coming together under the theme “Break the bias” at 1:00 pm tomorrow, in the university auditorium.
We look forward to your presence.
