PLANTING IS CARING
The World Nature Conservation Day
was celebrated by National Law University Jodhpur on 28th of July
2020. Conservation forms the crux of sustainable use of environmental
resources, maintenance of inter-generational equity and garnering respect for
Mother Nature. With dramatic changes in climatic conditions around the world
happening due to human interaction with the environment, the world has come to
realize that actions in one continent can affect another. The green efforts of
each individual can have long-term beneficial results.
It is with this goal in mind that
the Centre for Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Law and Policy
(CSENRLP) undertook the plantation drive within the National Law University
Jodhpur campus. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor led from the front with active
participation from all faculty members and staff. A total of 41 plants and
trees were planted – among them were Neem (Indian Lilac), Gulmohar (Royal
Poinciana), Curry Tree (Murraya Koenigii), Bottle Brush Plant (Melaleuca
Citrina) and Papda Tree (Indian Boxwood).
